In the very early days of FS9 Peter McLeland found away to correct airport elevations and since then MS has come out in public to put their stamp of approval on the procedure. That now means the Runway, Taxiway and the Apron flatten the default elevation in FSX where as only the Taxiway and Apron had default flattens in FS9. In fact, the process is a little more forgiving in FSX because ACES added a default flatten to the runway border which was not a part of FS9.
